How to use it
- Type the address and press Find.
- Choose Draw area and click each corner of the driveway. Add extra points on curves.
- Trace walkways, patios or the roof outline as separate shapes.
- Read the square footage under the map. Multiply by your rate per square foot.
Frequently asked questions
- How big is a typical two-car driveway?
- A two-car driveway is commonly 20 to 24 feet wide and 20 to 40 feet long, so 400 to 960 square feet. Longer rural driveways can be several thousand square feet, which is why measuring beats guessing.
- Can I measure a house for a house wash with this?
- You can trace the roof outline to get the footprint, which is what many soft-wash pros price from. Satellite imagery cannot show wall height or siding condition, so confirm the number of stories by phone or street view.
- Does the tool work for sealcoating and parking lots?
- Yes. Trace any paved area. For commercial lots, draw one shape per section and add the totals.
- Why is my measurement different from the county record?
- County parcel data lists the lot, not the pavement. Satellite tracing measures the actual surface you'll clean or seal.
- Is this free for business use?
- Yes. If you quote regularly, AboveYard also saves measurements, prices them from your rate sheet and sends the customer a quote to approve online.
